There is always help for anyone who is not satisfied with the way things are. The fact that you are asking for help is a good sign that you do want help and are willing to accept advice. Depression can result from physical, emotional, or spiritual causes. If you have not had a check-up during the past year, it would be good to see a medical doctor to determine if there is a physical cause for your depression. If you are well physically, the cause is likely to be emotional or spiritual. Depression often results from over emphasis on self. We all have difficulties to face and if we let all our attention focus on these difficulties, the negative effect is comparable to turning off our car engine, but leaving on the lights. Before long, the car battery runs down and the car won’t start. The human body is much like a car, and we have to keep going and focus our lives on that whish is positive. If you’re having trouble getting going, you may need to talk to your priest or pastor or someone who can help you look at circumstances in a positive way. Our attitude towards life has great influence over how we feel emotionally and physically. You can also pray. God made us and knows all about our circumstances and is ever ready to help us.
