The Senior Citizens Nutrition Center in Sabinal founded by Rodolfo G. Tristan con. 1 and contributed by his father, Mr. Rodolfo R. Tristan opened its doors on June 4. 1979.
The purpose of the Center is two-fold: to provide a balanced nutritional meal daily for senior citizens; and just as important, to provide an opportunity for them to interact with friends and persons in their own age group, and exchange information and opinions regarding benefits and issues relevant to them.
The Center opens its doors at 12 noon Monday through Friday. The program is sponsored by the Barrio Development Corp, of Uvalde, and LULAC Council 4323 of Sabinal.

The Sabinal Nutrition Center operates as a branch of El Milagro Nutrition Center in Uvlade, and receives meals in exchange for providing cooking staff on a voluntary basis at the Uvalde Center.
