Sanders, founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, said, “I know we’re just as proud as we can be to work on behalf of the fine folks at the March of Dimes I hop all the good people of Uvalde will see their way to help us help all our children.”
During July, the staff at the store will be working closely with the local March of Dimes chapter in Uvalde to raise funds for research into the causes of birth defects that afflict 15 million Americans. The effort will include in-store-canisters, as well as a 50-cent contribution by the store for each Bucket or Barrel purchased on June 30 and July 1, the pre-4th of July weekend.

A group of Uvalde youngsters enjoyed a week at the YMCA Camp Flaming Arrow in Hunt, Texas recently. A project sponsored by the Department of Human Resources and the Uvalde Child Welfare Board, it also received monetary contributions from several Uvalde business including the Kiwanis Lions Club Gensco, Inc. Anthonys.
The children June 10 and returned June 23. They enjoyed horseback riding, canoeing, arts and crafts, swimming, sishing, and camping.
Those attending were Jose Huerrera. Laura Arredondo, J immy Huerrera, Eloísa Pi-sana and Gregorio Huerrera.
Other children have already been scheduled to attend later this summer.
