Cuatro jovencitos de Uvalde y miembros de la Organización Juvenil Católica de la Iglesia Sagrado Corazon de Uvalde, asistieron a la Convención Nacional Bienial 1979 del CYO en Kansas City, Missouri el 15, 16, 17 y 18 de noviembre.

Este ano el tema de la convención fue “Today We Experience, Tomorrow We Reach Out” lo que quiere decir que la convención seria una experiencia de la cual los jovenes se inspirarían a extender sus manos para ayudar al prójimo.
Dice Chelito Ibarra, “Todos regresamos con una gran alegría al haber disfrutado de mucho carino entre todos los jovenes que conocimos. En tan poquito tiempo todos nos hicimos amigos y sentíamos el espíritu de unidad y felicidad. Fue una experiencia que
deseamos compartir con los demas miembros del CYO y toda la comunidad.

Roland Del Toro es un alumno del grado doce en Uvalde High School, y sus padres son el Sr. y Sra. Adolfo Del Toro. Judy es hija del Sr. y Sra. Alfonso Canales y asiste al Southwest Texas Junior
College. John es hijo del Sr. y Sra. José Aviles y asiste también al SWTJC. Chelito es hija del Sr. y Sra. Jose Ibarra y ayudanta de profesora la Escuela Anthon.

An exhibit featuring gift ideas for Christmas giving will be on display at the Food Seminar, Wednesday, December 5 at the A&M Research and Extension Center on Gamer Field Road in Uvalde, zthe exhibit will be a part of the programs presented at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00p.m.
Paulette Schwartz, Texas Department of Agriculture marketing specialist, and Annette Reddell, seafood education specialist,Texas Agriculture Extension Service, will present information to help you serve nutritious meals at a modest cost. Each will * give a recipe demonstrations , money-saving tips and nutrition information. Use of the microwave and food processor will also be part of the program.
This serminar is sponsored by the STAR Family Living Task Force.	Mrs. Joan
Shearrer of Pleasanton is serving as chairman of the group.
