Scanning through a lárge batch of exchanges, we have come across the many achievements of our students, and reading through each one holsters our confidence in the future of those of Mexican descent. Pomona is the first stop in our jaunt:

A fellow worth keeping your eye on is Candy Mendoza of the Pomona Jun?or College. For two years in a row he has been editor of both the yearbook and the weekly paper. At present lie is vice-president of the Student Eody, the program chairman of the Cabinet an advisor of the YMCA club K.O.L.T, A columnist on the Pomona Valley Citizen, member of the Lettermen's Club being a fielder on the baseball team, and is employed as publicity agent for the Federal Security Board In that city. Roy Perez is editor and co-(ounder of ’’The Blaster” the weekly newspaper of the Tournament of Roses Band.
- Rosario Chavez, life member of the J.C. scholarship society, has been promoted to^captain In the R.OiT.C.
Marcos Orozco, brother of Carmen Orozco who several years ago won first prize in a statewide vocal contest, Is now singing in the school quartette.
The girls on the West Campus have formed a club for those of Mexican descent.
Roland Vasquez and Santos Rodriquez are school handball champions of the East and West Campuses respectfully.

Esteban Walker, is said by a friend to be of Mexican descent Is art editor of "The Russ" weekly paper of the San Diego High School.' On the same staff is John Franco, exchange editor and member of school cabinet.

Mae Duarte "is president of the Social ^Ivlng Club at Ventura High School. The Jaysee Spanish Club has seventeen members of Mexican descent.

Valentino Nieto is president of the Jaysee Spanish Club. At the Speaker's Forum, Mr. Samuel Ortegon lectured on Mexican Culture. He is a B.A. and M.A; from U.S.C.

Danny Frias was manager of the Jaysee fxurtball team.
Jim Nunez, member of "The Bachelors" service honor organization, won All-Eastern Conference Football honors at left end.
The Spanish Club has fourteen students of mexican descent.
