Evans St. Flores Studio The Catholic Youth Organization presented a special program entitled “The Christmas Story”. The program was presented before the midnight mass on Christmas Eve at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The story involves the events that took place before, during and after the birth of Christ. It begins with the angel Gabriel annoucing the birth of John the Baptist. Gabriel then goes to Nazareth and appears to Mary telling her she is to be the Mother of Jesus. Mary and her husband Joseph journey to Bethelehem where she gives birth to her first child. The sheperds of the fields are told of the great news and they go to Bethlehem to see the baby. Some astrologers from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem inquiring about the newborn King of the Jews. They are guided by the star which leads them to Jesus. They bring him gifts and worship him. CYO members who participated in the program were Candle Bearers: Lily Ybarra, Kathy De La Garza, Laura Romo, Belia Contreras, Bobby Sanchez and Andy Sanchez.
