Unanimous decision to sponsor a vigorous program to interest Mexican youth in greater self-advancement through education vas adopted when young Mexican leaders from throughout Southern California with their advisors, met for the first Santa Barbara Regional Tex-'can Youth Conference at the :eighborhood House.
Presided over by Paul Coronel. State college student and president of the California Mexican youth Conference, 60 merabers joined for an all-day session whose purpose was to forvard Mexican youth through a three-point program including health, educational background and spiritual progress.

Es muy fa <<il para un niño quo no tiene un intcrís en las cosas que pertenecen a los ñiños do su edad, los juegos y los estudios, juntarse con malas co¡’--pañías quo lo-s llevan a hacer travesuras, vuestros niños necesitan la orientaciSn moral, espiritual o intelectual que les ayudará' a ser individuos que todos admiramos, líderes de sus grupos, capaces de desempeñar cualquier puesto de importancia en su comunidad, y ciudadanos leales del pueblo donde viven.
