Park as the Mexican-American Male Student at Uvalde High School. He recently received in appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He had been chosen as the principal nominee to West Point by Congressman Chick Kazen and received similar endorsements from Senator Lloyd Bentzen and John Tower. He has been a member of the English Honor Society, Scribe Honor Society, National Honor Society on Journalism, Who’s Who among American High School Students and was a delegate to the American Legion Boys State sponsored by Tomas Valle Post 479.
