The name of the small town is Rockspring, Texas. One day, 61| years ago, a gringo named Henderson had just murdered his ovm wife, so he got on his horse and put his rifle on the side and rode on to a place where he had a Mexican working for him. When the gringo got to the place where the Mexican was he told the Mexican he didn’t have anymore work for him. Mr. Henderson gave the worker his horse and his rifle and a little bit of money so the worker could go back to Mexico. When the Mexican rode off to Mexico, Mr. Henderson went to town and told the law that the Mexican that was working for him had just killed his wife and stolen his horse and rifle. The Mexican worker was caught by the law and brought back to town. Mr. Henderson told a man to cut some wood and to place it under a tree. The Law and the Gringo, Henderson placed the Mexican worker against the tree and put wood around him and poured $ gallons of gasoline on the green mesquite and burned the poor Mexican to death. Later it was proven that the Mexican they had burned to death was innocent and that the gringo, Henderson had killed his own wife. On the word of the gringo, Henderson, the law had been a party to the murder of an innocent man. The place where the innocent man is buried is stilJ intact and can be seen. The tombstone reads ANTONIO RODRIGUES DIED - Nov. 3. 1910 BURNED AT STAKE. We know that the Gringo still doesn’t like us or for that matter want us here eventhough they don’t use such drastic means to eliminate us anymore. Some would if they could. We have to unite in order to be on the guard so something like the above or something similiar never happen again R. Ayala LA LOMITA ’75 GUERRA’S H008B OF FINE FOODS. PH. 387-ÍL914 322} Ee MAIN ST.
