LEAGUE GOIFG STRONG The various basketball leagues formed to take caro of the Conference basketball tournament, have become so popular that they will continue after the Conference tournament. Successful leagues ara the Santa Ana, Say Gabriel Valley, and the East L.A.- leagues. Outstanding team in each League have been Santa Ana, Puente, and the Cleland House respectively. He was the Nation’s best two miler in J.C OU^TANDIkG ATHLETE Among the first outstanding athletes chosen of Arizona high sch. vouth, wo find seventeen year old Dave Candelaria of Holbrook High School.. At the end of his four year high school career he will hive earned twelve major sport letters in Holbrook L.a. Dave has been selected by the Northern Conference officials as fli-st team All-Conference quarterback. This year he made his fourth letter in football and is playing his fourth year of basketball, getting his letter in it as well as looking forward to the earning of another letter in track. PAISANOS ALL Glendale J.C. is coming out with i two paisanos on their team that । promise "to go places" this year. They are Charlie Guzman, sprinter, and Arni Antuñez, quarter-miler.
