Nuestras mas sinceras felicitaciones van para el Sr. Alfredo Ibarra quien celebro 83 años de vida el pasado viernes 22 de Septiembre y los paso muy feliz en compañía de sus amigos en El Centro El Milagro.
El Sr. Ibarra fue'en su
juventud un activo y dedicado ciudadano de nuestra comu nidad, defendiendo	en
muchas ocasiones los derechos de Mexico-Americanos. Muchas gracias por toda su labor y que Dios lo bendiga, Don Alfredo.
Hoy felicitamos al Sr. Juan Vasquez residenteyie la Calle Elizabeth quien celebro su cumpleaños la semana pasada. El Sr. Vasquez nos platico con orgullo de sus padres, Jesus (ya fallecido) y Margarita Vasquez quien mucha gente aprecia mucho. Ellos fueron los fundadores del Restaurante Vasquez de esta ciudad. Que Dios le de muchos mas aftas de vida, Sr. Vasquez!

Nancy Tafolla Named Local Representative For Eagle Bail Bonds Co.
Uvalde now has its first woman bonds-person. Mrs. Nancy Tafolla, wife of Lee Roy Tafolla and the daughter of Mr. and Tomas Zapata of Uvalde is taking her distinctive title quite calmly as she begins her new career as a representative of
Eagle Bail Bonds of San Antonio.
Mrs. Tafolla attended Uvalde High School and San Antonio College. Presently she is taking correspondence courses in real estate from the American College of Real Estate.

Los ciudadanos de Uvalde recibirán correspondencia de la Ciudad de Uvalde esta semana. De acuerdo con el Sr. Alvin Smith, la ciudad de Uvalde los cobros de impuestos se pusieron en el correo el pasado v viernes.
Un total de 4,602 cobros de impuestos de propiedad inmueble (tierras, etc.) y 3,065 cobros de propiedad personal, se enviaron, haciendo un total de 7,667 cobros. El total de valor fijado a las propiedades es de $28,901,914.00, representando impuestos correspondiendo a un total de $433,528.00.
Los ciudadanos son recordados que se les dara* un descuento de 2% si pagan. sus impuestos en el mes de
Octubre. Si pagan entre el 1 de Noviembre, 1978 y el 31 de Enero, 1979 pagan la cantidad señalada en
el cobro, y si no pagan hasta despues del 31 de Enero se les cobrara cargos adicionales.
