Rich stated that Kazen has received political contributions from defense contractors which makes it difficult for him to fight for defense monies to spent locally. At a meeting held on March 6, 1980, Eta Beta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Southwest Texas Junior College elected president and vice-president for the 1980-81 school year. The remaining officers will be elected early in the fall semester.
Elected president was Bridget McGee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O.F. McGee of Sabinal. Izamare Ibarra, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jose Ibarra of Uvalde, was elected vice-president.
Phi Theta Kappa is an honor society for community junior college students. Members must have earned a 3.5 grade point average and be enrolled as students in an
program in which they can earn a degree.

While in Washington, D.C., Bridget, Izamare and Mrs. Atkinson toured the White House, the Capitol and presidential
