Ademas de competencia en abüidad de Manejar sus bicicletas los ñiños recibirán instrucciones de seguridad. Se les presentara ademas una demonstracion por el Departamento de Bomberos y el EMS. Patrocinan el evento el Departamento de Policía y el Club Kiwanis. El Sr. Gonzales es el presidente de dicho club.

Well over 30 high .performance tractors are scheduled to participate in this year’s Cactus Jack World Championship Tractor Pull in Uvalde. The Pull will be held on August 4 and 5 at the City of Uvalde Fairgrounds. Starting time on Sat-turday will be 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Competition for the Tractor Pull will be set up in eight different classes. The classes will range from 5,500 to 10,500 pounds in the Open Class and 7,500 to 15,200
Columbian Squire Slow Pitch
Tournament Sunday
The Uvalde Columbian Squires will sponsor their First Slow Pitch Tournament on Sunday. July 29, 1979 at the Uvalde baseball complex on Garner Field Road. The action will start at 8 a.m.
The eight teams that will be competing for the team and individual trophies are: the Uvalde A’s; Del Rio’s

Tiie pull is sponsored by the Uvalde Chamber of Commerce and is sanctioned by the Lone Star Tractor Pullers associationi.
Admission for the Tractor Pull will be three dollars for adults, two dollars for six to 18 year olds and children under six will be free.

Uvalde-July 24, 1979 A Pre-construction meeting was held on July 24, 1979 in Uvalde to discuss the reconstruction of nine miles of FM 140 in Uvalde County.
FM 140 from 8 miles southeast of FM117, southeast to the Zavala County line is to be reconstructed to 2—12 lanes. The Contractor for this project is Ballard & Haile, Inc. of Uvalde The project is scheduled to start August 1, 1979 with the setting of construction barricades.
