FINAL CURTAIN FOR ACTOR - I predict the final curtain will fall on the career of a former Broadway star, alone and unwanted due to alcoholism.
POLAR CAPS MELTING — I predict our scientists and geologists will inform us that the polar caps of both the North Pole and South Pole are melting at an astonishing rate and many fantastic fish and animals of the of the ice age will be with us again! These fish and animals will thaw out and be with us as though thousands of years have not passed! You will see pictures of these startling creatures of the past!
RACE RIOTS IN WASHINGTON - I predict the next scene of planned race riots will be in Washington, D.C. next summer and will come without warning!

In the same spirit, we want our Nation healthy and strong in its domestic economy so that we can maintain our influence for good in the the world. We must ask ourselves, our neighbors and all elements of our society to help fight inflation. If we must make readjustments in our living standards for the common good, all must be willing to make common and equitable sacrifices.
GOVERNMENT NOT SOLUTION
While I have spent my career in the legislative branches of state and have always been
federal government, convinced that any government is only as strong as its people want it to be. Conversely, it will be as weak as its people permit it to be. I want government to function efficiently, economically and wisely, always recognizing that it is a servant of the people, not the master.
The work of the Congress will give me less time in the District during the holidays than I had hoped, but my primary responsibilities are in Washington. May I, therefore, here wish you and yours a happy, healthy, peaceful and prosperous holiday season and New Year.
