Weekly, Spanish-language, newspaper published in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico by Ignacio Torteya. The publications’ subtitle “Semanario de La Vida Regional,” translates to “Regional Life Weekly.” La Antorcha published local news and included a section about Brownsville, Texas, the neighboring city across the US-Mexico border, and a literary section for poetry and creative writings.
