Daily, Spanish-language newspaper published in Laredo, Texas by El Día Publishing Company under the direction of Delis Negrón (1901-1956). Content included local and world news, poetry, literature, and politics. El Día often endorsed political candidates and was considered a partisan newspaper supporting Republican candidates. Negrón, a Puerto Rican poet, professor, and activist, began his journalism career in Mexico, later settling in Texas. Prior to founding El Día, he was Editor for the Laredo Times. Negrón also contributed to Las Noticias, El Ciudadano del Sur, La Prensa, and the LULAC Newsletter, the official publication of the League of United Latin American Citizens.
