El Mañana. Semanario Liberal Mexicano
McAllen, Texas, United States
1917-05-26/1921-06-25
Weekly, Spanish-language newspaper established in McAllen, Texas by Lorenzo Yáñez Jr. (1884-1941) and Adrián Tapia. Founded in 1917, El Mañana openly criticized the Mexican government. The paper described itself as “pro-Mexico” and promised its readership that the interests of Mexican Texans would not be neglected. Yáñez Jr. was the son of established printer and publisher, Lorenzo Yáñez. El Mañana was the third Texas publication in which Yáñez Jr. and Tapia partnered. Prior to 1917, they published El Guarda del Bravo in Laredo and El Figaro in Corpus Christi. In 1922, Tapia began publication of El Diogenes, also in McAllen.
