El Día was a newspaper published daily in Spanish, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico by Santiago R. Troncoso. El Día subtitle “Diario popular de la tarde” translates to “Popular evening newspaper”. El Día was the first newspaper in the Ciudad Juarez and began its publication on May 15, 1926. The publications of El Día from March 17 to April 15, 1930 narrate from the arrest to the release of Santiago R. Troncoso when he had to leave address temporarily. Santiago R. Troncoso remained in prison for fifteen days for the alleged crime of “armed assaulting the… Head of Security Commissions and four agents… and refusing to hand over a pistol.” El Día published local, state, and national news relevant to the inhabitants of the border region.
